One of the unique things about Hogwarts: The Luna Cycle is the inclusion of Centaurs as Hogwarts students and staff. In the fictional world of Luna Cycle, Centaurs and Humans have settled their differences, and now both study magic together. However, a few key notes about Centaurs and Humans exist, so here is a list of the traits of each:
Humans/Werewolves/Veelas/Vampires: (all follow same basic character plans) use wands made of wood with magical cores to direct their magical energies. All humanoid creatures walk on two legs, except for Werewolves during the full moon, who switch between two- and four-legged walking styles. Humanoids fly using brooms, but are relatively slow on foot. Likewise, they also possess physical capabilities inferior to most creatures, except for angry vampires and transformed werewolves. They make up for this with their intelligence and magical abilities. Humanoids all wear full-body clothing when in public.
Centaurs: Rather than using wands to direct their energies, Centaurs make use of staves, which are long wooden rods tipped with a thicker section displaying one of an enormous number of runes, each representing a different concept. In comparison to Humans, Centaurs can run at more than double the speed, and have physical fighting skills matched only by transformed werewolves. Even stronger are Centaurs wielding enormous double-bladed axes or longbows, with which they have unparalleled accuracy. However, modern Centaurs have stopped using weapons in favor of using magic with their staves, and now rely on their hooves for any physical combat. Centaurs stand on four legs, as they posess a horse's body with the head replaced by the upper body of a human. Thus, Centaurs have a total of six appendages. Centaurs have intelligence and magical ability roughly equal to that of Humanoids, but their physical abilities are balanced by the Centaurs' absolute inability to ride any sort of flying device. Male Centaurs are not required to wear anything in public, though fashionable ones might choose to wear a shirt. Female Centaurs are usually found wearing a tube-top or shirt, and it is not viewed as acceptable for them to appear without upper body clothing in public.
Despite their differences, Centaurs and Humanoids can and have fallen in love and had children; Hybrids are usually in the form of either a human or centaur, but occassionally take other forms.
